Use old shoe boxes for an aesthetic touch that adds storage space. Use leftover fabrics and wallpaper, and dress the shoe boxes to match your decor. They make terrific storage containers, and they can even give your room a little extra drama.

Drywall Seams

Take a sponge to your drywall! Skip the sanding and sponge drywall seams instead. It may take a bit of practice, but sponging drywall seams can be as effective as sanding them down. Sponging doesn’t create tons of dust like sanding does, either.

Keep your floors protected while painting. Taking this step prevents paint from staining your floors, carpeting and other objects. An inexpensive way to do this is to use old newspaper in layers. You can use a plastic sheet or paint cloth to block your floor if paint splashes.

Don’t forget about landscaping when planning your home improvement projects. The first thing visitors see is your front lawn, and a beautifully landscaped yard and a lush, green lawn can cause friends and neighbors to envy your home. Keep the grass neatly mowed, and install plants and shrubs to make your property look attractive.

Make good use of small jars like baby food jars to organize your work bench. Just screw the jar lids onto the bottom of a shelf above your work bench. You should put small items inside the jars like screws, beads nails and more. Then, you can just twist the glass portion back up underneath the shelf. As a result, your wall shelf’s space will be utilized by using small jars that you thought were junk.
